Members of the Old Dominion Dental Society are part of a powerful alliance of general dentists and dental specialists who, as an organization, have the ability to shape the practice of dentistry in Virginia and further impact the heritage as African American dentists in the 21st century.
ODDS has a rich history, founded in 1913 as a forum for minority dentists who were (at the time) denied membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Virginia Dental Association. This society has represented the hopes and aspirations of the African American dentist in Virginia for more than a century. The membership is made up of over 150 dentists throughout the State of Virginia. Each Component represents an area of Virginia which makes it easier to find associates, associations and resources close to you and your practice.
We afford our members the opportunity for Continuing Education and Networking. It opens the door to make new friends, build professional relationships and have fun attending our yearly Dental Convention. We also offer Leadership opportunities and volunteer opportunities for service on councils and committees. You can also impact your community by participating in our Outreach and Mentor Programs.
We extend you the opportunity to join our organization. We hope you decide to join us!
