Newman C. Taylor Dental Society

Dr. Newman C. Taylor was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Dentistry and had retired from the College of Dentistry in 1984 after 15 years of service.  In addition to his teaching position, he maintained a private practice in Alexandria, Virginia.  Dr. Taylor had been a staff dentist at Jefferson Memorial and Circle Terrace Hospital in Alexandria.  He was a past president of the Alexandria Dental Society and a very active member in the National Dental Association and the Virginia State Dental Association. Dr. Taylor was a dedicated practitioner and teacher who greatly contributed to the dental profession.

The Northern Virginia Dental component of Old Dominion Dental Society is revitalized with a renewed spirit and renowned purpose. Newman Taylor Dental Society, encompassing Alexandria, Arlington , Manassas, and the Dulles Corridor, is the epitome of  the re-organizing force that the Old Dominion Dental Society has displayed among its members throughout our rich history.  Dr. Hudgins states that there is renewed interest among African American practitioners in Northern Virginia seeking other practitioners that have similar experiences as themselves.

Dr. Julia Jackson

One of the few Black female oral surgeons on the East Coast; Dr. Jackson practices in Annandale Virginia at Northern Virginia Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates. “Extraction Jackson” as she is affectionately referred to, is an outstanding surgeon with aspirations to contribute to underserved communities through missions.

Dr. C. Benson Clark

Once the head of the Old Dominion Dental Society is a force in Northern Virginia; Dr. Clark, the proud owner of King Centre Dental in Alexandria, Virginia, continues to provide  superior state of the art technology dentistry to his patients in the area. Dr. Clark continues to re-invent himself and stay in tune with the latest dental trends.
